Responsibilities

Directs civil work project resources, monitors financial performance, and oversees Project Management Plans (PMPs) to ensure projects meet cost, schedule, quality, and budget goals
Leads large civil works teams by providing strategic direction, balancing workloads, and ensuring effective team performance across multiple disciplines
Coordinates planning, design, and construction of inland navigation projects, ensuring integration with organizational goals and compliance with established timeframes
Resolves project issues by providing guidance to functional managers, monitoring progress, and implementing corrective actions to stay on track with objectives and schedules
Communicates project progress, challenges, and decisions to senior leadership, stakeholders, and teams, ensuring alignment with goals and securing necessary resources and commitments

Required

You must be a US Citizen to be eligible for this opportunity
You must have at least a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Electrical or Architecture
You MUST be a PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes: managing civil works projects (e.g., navigation, buildings, bridges, dams) to meet cost, schedule, and quality goals AND leading or supervising teams (e.g., project managers, engineers) to deliver complex engineering projects (e.g., flood management, water resources) AND resolving issues related to project integrity, compliance, and stakeholders, while reporting updates to leadership and stakeholders (e.g., U.S. Congress, local governments, contractors)
