Business Development Manager

They are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new customer acquisition for their Fleet & Vehicle payments division, focusing on promoting and selling the 1link suite of fleet and SMR technology solutions.

Responsibilities

Creating and managing a portfolio of new business opportunities from first customer contact through to live account start
Developing a strong understanding of prospective customer needs and align these with the epyx product suite to deliver value-led proposals
Owning the full sales cycle including discovery, solution presentation, commercial negotiation, and contract close
Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior decision makers and operational stakeholders within prospective customers
Generating new leads primarily through your own network, industry engagement and proactive outreach
Carrying out cold calling and targeted prospecting activity where required to build a sustainable opportunity pipeline
Identifying and pursue opportunities across fleet operators, mobility providers, and other relevant end-user fleet organizations
Negotiating commercial terms within agreed company guidelines to ensure sustainable and profitable growth
Demonstrating strong commercial judgement and confidence in dealing with procurement and senior decision makers
Delivering against agreed KPIs and targets, such as number of new business meetings/visits per month, pipeline creation and conversion rate, revenue and margin targets, proposal volume and win ratio
Capturing and maintaining accurate customer intelligence, activity notes, and opportunity progress in the company CRM/sales systems
Ensuring all sales documentation is completed accurately and on time, including application forms, visit records, and written communications

Required

Proven track record of achieving growth through new business sales, ideally within fleet, automotive, or vehicle technology markets
Strong understanding of fleet operations and the commercial drivers behind SMR, compliance, downtime, supplier performance and cost control
Experience selling into end-user fleet customers and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders
Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills, confident delivering to all levels including senior leadership
Strong negotiation skills, commercial awareness, and ability to close deals
Comfortable working remotely and independently, managing your own activity levels and sales strategy
Confident in challenging the status quo in a positive, progressive way to drive better outcomes for customers and epyx
Full UK driving license and willingness to travel regularly as required
