Red Cedar Partners is a 22-year-old build-to-suit retail commercial real estate development firm focused on ground-up projects for national tenants, including 7-Eleven. They are hiring a Director of Retail Development to help drive the next phase of their growth, focusing on originating new retail development opportunities and leading deals from initial outreach through executed lease.
Responsibilities
Originate new retail development opportunities in target markets
Leverage deep retail tenant knowledge to identify executable sites
Work directly with national retailers such as 7-Eleven
Lead deals from initial outreach through executed lease
Negotiate LOIs and land contracts
Coordinate early feasibility and due diligence, including zoning, access, utilities, and site constraints
Operate with an ownership mindset and strong bias toward action
Qualification
Required
Experience working with national retailers is required
Strong retail tenant knowledge is a must
Background in land acquisition, retail development, brokerage, or tenant representation
Proven ability to self-source and close deals
Highly driven, organized, and accountable
Comfortable operating independently in an entrepreneurial environment
Motivated by performance-based compensation and uncapped earning potential

Chicago-based preferred
Remote considered for the right candidate
Some travel required based on markets and deals
