Responsibilities

Conducts individual, group and organization-based training and development needs analyses and assessments for initial and/or continuing operations training programs including Assistant Unit Operators, Licensed Unit Operators, Senior Reactor Operators, Shift Managers and Shift Technical Advisors
Based on assessed need, plans, develops and delivers or guides and coordinates the delivery of individual and/or group training and instructional programs
Develops or oversees the development of training curricula; formulates or reviews training outlines and determines appropriate instructional methodologies and formats/ evaluates and recommends incorporation of vendor programs as appropriate to meet overall training goals and objectives
Oversees and coordinates the development and preparation of teaching and visual aids, instructional materials, computer tutorials, and reference materials appropriate to specific program objectives
Evaluates effectiveness of training and development programs and utilizes relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods
Participates in the sourcing, selection and evaluation of contracted instructors and consultants, as appropriate
Coordinates work flow and administrative activities necessary to deliver and document unit programs and activities
As appropriate to the position, participates in the development of operating goals and objectives for the unit; recommends, implements and administers methods and procedures to enhance operations
Responds to inquiries and researches and resolves problems related to transactions handled by the unit; serves as liaison with other constituencies in the resolution of day-to-day administrative and operational issues

Required

High School Diploma or GED is required
B.S. degree in a technical field of study is desirable
At least 4 years Operations Training experience with Accredited Training Programs, equivalent Navy Nuclear Power Training experience or 4 years' experience Operations Supervisory experience with experience in an accredited Operations training program (e.g., participating in Curriculum Reviews, conducting OJT/TPE, participating in training as a student)
Proven ability to lead Accredited Operations Training Programs in accordance with accreditation standards and all applicable procedural and regulatory requirements
Knowledge and experience with NRC examination standards and process
Must hold or have held an SRO License or Certification
Maintain requirements for nuclear plant unescorted access
Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles and of a wide range of training methods, techniques and formats
Ability to determine training objectives
Knowledge of operations standards and procedures
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
Program planning and leadership skills
Ability to supervise and train employees, which includes organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments
Ability to analyze and solve problems
Knowledge of curriculum development and preparation procedures
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information effectively to groups
Ability to interpret and assess training and development needs and to develop appropriate and creative responses
Ability to design, develop, implement and evaluate training plans, curricula and methodology
Skill in examining and evaluating operations and developing and/or re-engineering operating strategies, systems and procedures
Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments
Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions
