Senior Clinician (Access Services)
NEOGOV is a provider of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorder services in Chesterfield County. The Senior Clinician (Access Services) will be responsible for conducting comprehensive needs assessments, providing community resources, maintaining client records, and formulating clinical impressions based on assessment findings.

Responsibilities
Completes initial comprehensive needs assessments for consumers of varied ages, who presents to our agency seeking mental health, substance use, or case management services
Provides community resources to consumers as needed
Maintains client records in a timely, accurate and professional manner within an electronic health record in accordance with state licensure, Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS), and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards of practice
Formulates a clinical impression and initial diagnosis based on the assessment findings
Stays up to date with current and new research and best practices in mental health
Interfaces with internal and external providers, agencies and stakeholders; and
Performs other work as required
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in human services or related field
Three years of experience related to assigned program
Equivalent combination of training and experience
Considerable knowledge and understanding of fundamental concepts of normal and abnormal human behavior, personality development, family and group dynamics
Considerable knowledge of and an ability to apply a variety of psychotherapeutic treatment techniques/modalities
Adherence to basic ethics appropriate for a professional helping relationship
Knowledge of mental health diagnoses, assessment, and/or psychological and educational testing
Some knowledge of consultation program
Considerable knowledge of psychosocial history development
Very good interviewing and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
Computer proficiency skills
Working knowledge of electronic health record systems
Demonstrated ability to lead others
Pre-employment drug testing
FBI criminal background check
Education/degree verification
Preferred
Virginia counseling licensure
Verbal and written fluency in both English and Spanish
Working knowledge of mental health services and resources
Ability to work well on a team that serves a diverse consumer population
