Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with varied diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, stroke symptoms, orthopedic surgical recovery, and cardiac conditions
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including CNAs, receptionists, charge nurses, phlebotomists, IV/VAT teams, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists
Utilize EMR systems, support telemetry monitoring, and manage complex equipment such as IV pumps and medication dispensing devices
Participate in weekend rotations every other week with no call responsibilities and cover holidays approximately 75% of the time
Engage in orientation with both new employee and departmental training
Qualification
Required
Nursing degree
active registered nurse (RN) license
minimum 1+ years RN experience
Minimum of 18 months RN experience in Med/Surg or Telemetry settings
Strong skills in stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, tracheostomy care, PIV starts, chest tube and drain management, NGT placement, PCA pumps, and medication drip management including cardiac drips and blood products
Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) is required
Ability and willingness to float to various units within the region as needed
Preferred
Orthopedic experience is a plus for designated surgical units
