Responsibilities
Review and validate timesheets, ensuring all hours, earnings, and deductions are complete and accurate before payroll submission
Manage weekly payroll for hourly employees and bi‑weekly payroll for administrative staff
Handle specialized payroll needs, including certified payrolls and on‑demand separation checks in accordance with contractual requirements
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of multiple union agreements and ensure payroll practices align with each contract
Prepare and file monthly union fringe benefit reports with a high degree of accuracy
Serve as the primary contact for employee payroll inquiries, providing clear and timely support
Enter new trade employees into the HRIS system and verify that all onboarding documentation is complete
Conduct periodic audits to confirm proper HRIS configuration, accurate fringe calculations, and clean year‑end data for W‑2 processing
Set up and update union pay rates, fringe structures, and related payroll elements within the HRIS
Coordinate with the payroll provider to resolve tax‑related issues
Qualification
Required
High school diploma required; associate degree preferred
Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience, ideally including union, multi-state, or certified payroll exposure
Prior HR experience is beneficial
Preferred
CCP certification is a plus
