Operations Manager
ENGEL North America is seeking an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations for their Wilmington site. This role involves managing a team, ensuring efficient execution of order-to-ship processes, and maintaining financial performance while aligning with ENGEL headquarters standards.

Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a team of ~6–10 employees; set clear priorities, goals, and performance expectations
Establish daily and weekly operating rhythms, including tier meetings, KPI reviews, issue escalation, and action tracking
Ensure compliance with safety policies, training requirements, and site standards; promote a strong safety-first culture
Own the end-to-end order process, including order entry verification, scheduling, procurement coordination, production execution, shipping, invoicing readiness, and post-ship issue resolution
Improve order accuracy, on-time delivery, lead times, and responsiveness to customer needs
Partner with Sales and Customer Service to prioritize orders, manage backlog, and communicate delivery commitments
Implement and maintain HQ-aligned processes for: Operational controls and reporting cadence; Finance and controlling requirements (P&L, cost center discipline, forecasting); Quality management and corrective action systems; Inventory controls and governance
Prepare and present regular operational and financial performance updates to Trexel and ENGEL leadership
Full ownership of site P&L, including revenue execution support, labor and overhead management, COGS drivers, inventory accuracy impacts, and margin improvement
Lead annual budget development; manage monthly forecast updates and variance analysis
Identify and execute cost-reduction initiatives without compromising safety, quality, or delivery
Ensure internal controls for purchasing, inventory, and spend approvals align with corporate expectations
Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives (standard work, waste reduction, flow, 5S, root-cause problem solving)
Partner with Engineering and Applications teams to ensure operational readiness for new products and processes
Own vendor performance where relevant (lead times, quality, cost), working with procurement and corporate resources as needed
Qualification
Required
3–5 years of operations leadership experience within manufacturing, light manufacturing, industrial technology, or related environments
Proven experience managing teams (ideally 6+ direct and/or indirect reports) and building accountability through KPIs
Demonstrated ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management at the site or business unit level
Strong working knowledge of order management and fulfillment workflows (SAP, inventory, shipping)
Ability to standardize processes, implement controls, and operate effectively in a corporate or hybrid reporting structure
Technical background, particularly in equipment assembly, is a plus
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience
Experience operating within a multinational corporate structure (matrix reporting)
