Top Secret Cleared Sr. Network Engineer
Insight Global is searching for a well-rounded Senior Network Engineer and Architect to design and plan Information Technology (IT) networks and architecture for United States Space Command (USSPACECOM). The role involves managing multiple projects, overseeing network installations, ensuring security implementations, and monitoring network performance to meet DoD requirements.
Responsibilities
Providing Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support to Government personnel and performing advisory, analytical, and integration functions
Providing system management support focusing on design, specification, integration and implementation of enterprise-wide, large-management architecture operating on complex distributed networks with multiple classification enclaves and integrated with DoD C2 systems utilizing associated information assurance processes/procedures
Supporting implementation, configuration and management of network devices (switches and routers), Server operating systems, VMware/Nutanix virtualization infrastructure, Server application monitoring, VoIP telephony, SolarWinds network and server management suites, DHCP/DNS/IPAM experience, Palo Alto firewall, IPS/IDS, vRealize Operations & Configuration Manager, Modern server series installation, advanced disk subsystem and networking configuration
Developing detailed network design plans for the data center, ensuring they meet DoD requirements and standards
Creating network diagrams, schematics, and documentation for the data center infrastructure
Overseeing the installation and configuration of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment
Ensuring all network components are correctly set up and optimized for performance and security
Implementing DoD-approved security protocols and measures within the data center network
Configuring firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security appliances to protect the network from threats
Monitoring network performance to identify and resolve issues, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime
Using network monitoring tools to track bandwidth usage, latency, and other key performance indicators
Providing technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues within the data center
Working with other IT teams to diagnose and resolve complex network problems
Conducting capacity planning to ensure the network can handle current and future data center demands
Designing scalable network solutions that can grow with the organization's needs
Engineering and sustaining complex enterprise network architectures, focusing on core, distribution, and access layer transport and facility demarcation points
Leading the installation, configuration, and optimization of enterprise routers, firewalls, and cryptographic devices (e.g., TACLANE) within secure facility environments
Producing high-fidelity technical documentation, including logical and physical topology maps, interface descriptions, and 'as-built' documentation for MILCON and GSA-leased facilities
Collaborating with Cybersecurity and RMF teams to provide technical evidence for security control implementation and support Authorization to Operate (ATO) efforts
Validating equipment against DoD Approved Product Lists (APL/EPL) and support Bill of Materials (BOM) development for large-scale procurement
Supporting transition planning from temporary facilities to permanent MILCON infrastructure, ensuring continuity of service for mission-critical transport
Qualification
Required
10–15 years of relevant experience providing senior-level technical or engineering support to DoD or Intelligence Community programs
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related technical field. Additional relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
Security+ CE required
One advanced certification such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CASP+, or equivalent preferred
Experience with Network devices (switches and routers)
Experience with Server operating systems
Experience with VMware/Nutanix virtualization infrastructure
Experience with Server application monitoring
Experience with VoIP telephony
Experience with SolarWinds network and server management suites
