Sr. Avinoics/Electronics Engineer

xStear Incorporation is seeking a Senior Avionics/Electronics Engineer to design and analyze electronics equipment. The role involves circuit development, requirements management, testing, and debugging, as well as modeling using MATLAB/Simulink.

Responsibilities

Research, analyze, and design electronics equipment including Variable Frequency Motor Drives (VFMDs), AC/DC Power Converters, and W&W System Controllers
Perform schematic capture and circuit design using tools like Altium or OrCAD, and conduct SPICE analysis for circuit validation
Analyze and validate customer requirements through modeling and prototyping; maintain hardware interface control documents
Develop and execute Design Verification Test Procedures (DVTP) and generate reports (DVTR); troubleshoot PCB and manufacturing issues
Use MATLAB/Simulink to generate control algorithms and model system performance

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Typically requires 8+ years of related work experience in electronics design
Experience with magnetics design (EMI filters, inductors)
Knowledge of aerospace standards such as DO-160, ARP4754, and MIL-STD-810
Proficiency in worst-case load analysis, thermal analysis, and component derating
Must be a U.S. Person (Citizen or Permanent Resident) due to ITAR compliance requirements
