The role involves assisting with AV, security, and fiber/low-voltage cabling projects, including installation and configuration of various AV components and network cabling.
Information Technology
Responsibilities
Terminate and test network cabling (Cat5/Cat6)
Perform punchdowns using 66/110 blades
Mount/dress cable with J‑hooks
Terminate jacks in telecommunications closets
Assist the onsite Lead Technician and guide junior techs
Collaborate with permanent staff assigned to the project
Support cable routing and hanging with J‑hooks
Assist with device mounting and basic installations
Learn cable termination/punchdown skills from senior technicians
Maintain clean, safe, and organized work practices
Qualification
Required
Experience in low-voltage wiring, structured cabling, AV installation, CATV, or similar
Ability to terminate and test low-voltage cabling (depending on level)
Familiarity with AV or security systems a plus
OSHA-10 is beneficial
Ability to climb 8–10 ft ladders
Personal vehicle required for weekly travel
Must have a credit card for reimbursable expenses
Strong reliability and communication skills
