Chief Financial Officer

The International City/County Management Association is seeking a Chief Financial Officer for Camden County, Georgia. The CFO will manage the county's finances, work closely with the County Administrator, and ensure transparency and ethical stewardship of public funds while overseeing various financial operations and budget preparations.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Work closely with the County Administrator to manage the finances of the County
Meet with Department Directors to forecast and prepare expenditure budgets and Capital Improvement Plans
Manage multiple funds and investments and lead a professional finance team
Promote transparency by ensuring financial information is accurate, timely, accessible, and understandable to elected officials and the public
Ensure ethical procurement, contracting, and grant management practices are consistently applied and monitored
Foster an organizational culture of ethical conduct and public trust
Be experienced in financial reporting and oversight, internal controls, audits, and corrective action plans with a strong compliance mindset
Present complex information clearly to elected officials, departments, and the public
Develop, manage, and compile the budget for the General Fund, nine special revenue funds, six capital projects funds, and two enterprise funds
Develop projections for County revenue streams and expenses and assist departments as they develop operating and capital budget requests

Required

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or similar field of study is required
A minimum of five years of accounting/finance experience in a governmental organization with complexity similar to Camden County along with three years of supervisory experience is required
Must have the ability to be bonded

Preferred

Master's degree and/or CPA desired but not required
