Responsibilities
Process recurring data files (daily, weekly, monthly) using Excel for initial review and preprocessing
Write and optimize SQL queries to validate, test, and analyze data across multiple systems and databases
Design and implement data validation checks to identify discrepancies, anomalies, and trends
Partner with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure quality standards are met
Improve and scale data processing pipelines for efficiency and performance
Troubleshoot data issues and deliver timely, practical solutions
Document workflows, validation logic, and data processes to support consistency and scalability
Take on additional responsibilities as business needs evolve
Qualification
Required
Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-focused role
Strong SQL skills, including complex queries for validation and testing
Experience working with large datasets and recurring file-based data ingestion
Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
Clear communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
Minimum of 3 years of relevant data experience required
Preferred
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or R is a plus
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
