Assistant Corporation Counsel
The City of New York is seeking admitted attorneys and law school graduates for an attorney position in the Environmental Law Division. The role involves representing and advising the City on various environmental matters and compliance with laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
Represent and advise the City and its agencies in environmental and land use matters involving wastewater, stormwater, and drinking water systems, climate change and resiliency planning, solid waste management, hazardous waste management and remediation, protection of natural resources, and environmental review of City initiatives and private development projects
Litigate in State and federal court and in federal and State administrative tribunals, often in defense of City projects, infrastructure, and initiatives, but also in some affirmative advocacy
Counsel and advise the Mayor and City agencies concerning compliance with all federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations
Qualification
Required
Graduates of ABA approved law schools
Admitted to practice law in the State of New York or in the process of becoming admitted to the New York State Bar
Demonstrated interest in environmental and/or land use law
Between three and six years of litigation experience
