Responsibilities
Oversee and validate monthly financial statements, complex journal entries, and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across multiple entities
Lead preparation of financial reports compliant with GAAP/IFRS and enforce consistent application of corporate accounting policies
Manage the full month‑end close cycle, review and approve journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations, and drive deadlines to meet reporting timelines
Analyze variances between actuals, budgets, and forecasts, synthesize insights for senior leadership, and recommend corrective actions
Serve as primary contact for external audits: prepare high‑level schedules, coordinate responses, and manage remediation of audit findings
Partner with merchandising, operations, payroll, supply chain and commercial teams to standardize and document monthly accruals and estimate methodologies
Own prepaid schedules, roll‑forwards, and balance sheet substantiation, and ensure robust controls and documentation for key accounts
Lead process improvement and streamlining initiatives across the month‑end close and accounting workflows — leveraging lean principles and automation to shorten close cycles and reduce manual effort
Drive NetSuite (or large ERP) optimization: configure accounting modules, implement automation, oversee integrations, and mentor staff on system best practices
Build and coach a high‑performing accounting team, establish performance standards, deliver training, and ensure compliance with GAAP and new accounting standards adoption
Qualification
Required
5+ years of relevant general accounting experience
Experience in retail, consumer products, or e‑commerce
Demonstrated experience with full‑cycle month‑end close in a large ERP environment (NetSuite experience a plus)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with other Office tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills; effective at cross‑functional collaboration
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required
