Lecturer in International Political Economy

Tufts University is a world-renowned research institution committed to the creation and application of knowledge. The Fletcher School seeks a Lecturer in Global Political Economy for the Spring 2026 term to teach courses in the Master of Global Business Administration and Master of Arts in Law & Diplomacy programs, focusing on facilitating live class sessions and engaging with students.

Responsibilities

Review recorded videos, syllabus and readings, and coordinate with the faculty course designer
Participate in training on the online platform and program technology
Conduct weekly 90-minute live sessions for 13 weeks, to be offered either during a weekday evening or Saturday morning (eastern time)
Identify guest and external speakers as necessary
Conduct mid-semester course evaluations to gather feedback from students
Prepare, grade, and offer feedback on assignments, problem sets, exams, papers and other deliverables as outlined in the syllabus
Assign final grades for each student
Hold weekly office hours and engage with students regularly to ensure a high-touch learning experience
Provide feedback to program administration about possible enhancements to the course
Develop, modify, or adopt the current global political economy syllabus
Teach two in-person 80-minute lectures per week for 13 weeks
Prepare, grade, and offer feedback on assignments, problem sets, exams, papers and other deliverables as outlined in the syllabus
Assign final grades for each student
Hold regularly scheduled weekly office hours and engage with students regularly to ensure a high-touch learning experience

Required

Possess a doctoral degree, or related experience, in a field of study relevant to this position. A relevant field of study for this position may include political science, international political economy, international relations, economics, global studies, or related disciplines
