Responsibilities

Provide engineering support for the Metering department. This includes the Electric Division’s profile metering function and other large-scale metering systems. Support of the profile metering function involves administration of the Electric Division’s PrimeRead system for managing customer load profile data, monthly field collection of customer load profile data, entry of data into the PrimeRead system, and interchange metering
Provide engineering support for the Substation department in the design, layout and construction of new substations and modifications/improvements to existing substations. Create and maintain current all substation control prints. This involves field verifications of modifications to control equipment and updating of control prints in AutoCAD
Assist in the operation of the Substation and Metering departments. Develop and provide training programs for field personnel, provide backup support for supervision of these workforces, and assist in monitoring workforce performance
Provide technical support for the operation, maintenance, testing and repair of substation equipment. This includes assisting with equipment inspection and maintenance programs, diagnosis and repair of equipment failures, relay & DC control testing (NERC/RFC/PUC Compliance), selection and implementation of new test equipment/testing/troubleshooting techniques. Assist in equipment and/or storm-related emergencies
Provide engineering support for special projects as required. This includes but is not limited to Distribution Automation, Mobile-Up Dispatch, Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI), and other duties as assigned

Required

BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
Engineer I: 0 - 2 years of job-related experience
Engineer II: 2 - 5 years of job related experience
Knowledge of substation design and layout
Knowledge of switching procedures and safety-related work practices
Knowledge of SAP applications (purchasing, expense reporting, invoice approvals), SAC (budgeting and authorizations), iTOA (Switching submissions), DOJM (work order system)
Familiarity with substation equipment, materials and inventory
Knowledge of UGI compliance plans for federal and state regulatory agencies (NERC/RFC - PRC, PUC - I&M Standards)
Experience in operating electrical test equipment (Digital Multi-meter, Megger, Oscilloscope)
Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair defective substation equipment
Computer proficiency and ability to apply and use software applications to prepare reports, create databases and perform and track equipment testing
