Sustainability Technical Specialist
Sustainable Technology Partners is a fast-growing sustainability software consulting firm helping organizations with ESG reporting and actionable insights. They are hiring an entry-level Sustainability Technical Specialist to support technical sales, implementations, and customer support across multiple sustainability platforms.

Responsibilities
Prepare demo environments, POCs, tailored to prospect and customer use cases
Deliver live and virtual product demos, walking through workflows, reporting outputs, and 'how it works' at a practical level
Translate questions into clear follow-ups and coordinate next steps with Sales/Customer Success
Continuously improve demo scripts, demo data, and standard demo flows based on feedback
Support end-to-end implementations: requirements intake, configuration, testing, documentation, and go-live support
Configure organizational structures, users/roles, permissions, workflows, and reporting views within platforms
Help create repeatable implementation checklists, templates, and best practices as we scale
Import, clean, normalize, and validate sustainability data (utilities, facilities, waste, fleet, travel, procurement, refrigerants, etc.)
Map data fields between source systems and platforms; reconcile discrepancies and maintain clear audit trails
Build and maintain dashboards and reports; support recurring reporting cycles and KPI tracking
Assist with integration work (CSV templates, SFTP, API-based connections where applicable), including testing and troubleshooting
Triage and resolve support tickets; identify root causes across data, configuration, permissions, and workflow issues
Escalate bugs with clear reproduction steps, impact, screenshots, and logs
Maintain internal knowledge base articles and customer-facing how-to guides
Partner with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to resolve issues and improve the product experience
Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Bring patterns back to the team (common blockers, data issues, feature requests) so we can keep improving
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data/Analytics, Environmental Science/Sustainability) or equivalent practical experience
Comfort working with data in Excel/Google Sheets (sorting, filtering, pivots, basic cleaning)
Strong communication skills and confidence presenting to small groups (demos, trainings, walkthroughs)
Ability to learn new software quickly and stay organized across multiple projects
Attention to detail and a habit of documenting what you learn
Preferred
Exposure to ESG/sustainability reporting tools and other sustainability/energy software
Familiarity with GHG Protocol concepts (Scopes 1–3) and common ESG metrics
Basic SQL and/or Python experience
Interest in integrations (APIs, SFTP, data pipelines) and troubleshooting
