Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Altium)
Select appropriate electrical components and materials based on project requirements and specifications
Perform circuit analysis, simulations, and calculations to ensure system performance and safety
Develop and execute test plans and procedures to validate the functionality and reliability of electrical systems
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during development, testing, and production phases
Collaborate effectively with mechanical, software, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems
Document design specifications, test results, and other technical information accurately and comprehensively
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, technologies, and best practices
Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for design processes and methodologies
Potentially mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field or High School Diploma and 6 years of additional relevant experience or Associate's Degree and 4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
5+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering design and development
Working knowledge of fundamental electrical engineering principles, including circuit theory, power systems, and control systems
Experience with mention specific areas of expertise relevant to the role, e.g., analog/digital circuit design, embedded systems, power electronics, instrumentation, communication protocols
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., UL, IEC, IEEE)
Must have a current and active Secret clearance
Preferred
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Experience supporting government programs
Proficiency in using electrical CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD Electrical, Fusion 360, SolidWorks Electrical, EPLAN Software, and ETAP). Experience with IT systems and cloud-based technologies
