Construction
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and review mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping, in accordance with project requirements, codes, and industry standards
Prepare and review mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
Provide technical engineering support and coordination to Project Managers and project teams
Assist with project controls activities, including cost analysis, scheduling coordination, and estimating support
Perform site observations to verify design intent and construction progress
Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs; support construction administration activities
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architectural, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines
Utilize Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM tools to produce and coordinate mechanical designs
Ensure constructability, quality, and compliance throughout all phases of the project
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university
3–5 years of related mechanical design experience, preferably within the construction or AEC industry
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM-based design tools
Strong ability to read, interpret, and prepare construction drawings and technical specifications
Experience performing site observations and supporting construction administration
Working knowledge of applicable mechanical codes, standards, and industry best practices
Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Self-motivated with a commitment to producing high-quality work
Willingness and desire to learn, grow, and advance professionally within the organization
Effective communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders
