Responsibilities
Lead complex, cross-team initiatives that unlock new product capabilities, aligning technical execution across teams to deliver meaningful outcomes
Define and evolve technical approaches for complex, ambiguous problem spaces, creating clarity where requirements are incomplete and guiding teams toward durable solutions
Shape longer-term technical strategy in partnership with engineering and product leadership, balancing near-term delivery with scalability, quality, and future product needs
Raise the technical bar across teams through mentorship, design guidance, and thoughtful feedback, enabling other engineers to operate more effectively and independently
Influence system-level maintainability, reliability, and performance by identifying cross-cutting improvements and guiding architectural evolution over time
Leverage AI thoughtfully to improve team effectiveness and engineering workflows, setting patterns and standards that scale beyond individual contributions
Communicate clearly and persuasively about technical direction, risks, and trade-offs to engineers and leadership, creating shared understanding and alignment
Exhibit strong user and business judgment at scale, ensuring technical decisions consistently reflect customer needs, product strategy, and long-term business impact
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
8+ years of non-internship experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of building scalable backend systems and microservices
Expert proficiency across the full stack (web, mobile, and backend), with deep experience in React.js, React Native, Golang (or similar backend technologies), and TypeScript to drive product decisions
Proven track record of architecting and designing scalable APIs (REST or gRPC) and data models that support exponential growth
Experience leading technical execution in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, working closely with cross-functional partners
Passionate about our mission to help people overcome chronic pain and improve quality of life
Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) and a passion for leveraging AI technologies to accelerate engineering velocity and design high-quality systems
Preferred

Experience designing and evolving systems in a rapid-growth, 0-to-1 environment where you navigated ambiguity and iterated quickly
Deep familiarity with our core stack: React Native, React, Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, GraphQL, Docker, Golang, AWS, Postgres, Temporal, and gRPC
Experience designing and evolving integration-heavy systems (e.g., with hospital systems, health plans, or other external partners)
Experience in healthcare, insurance tech, or high-compliance industries (HIPAA, SOC 2)
