Social Media Manager - Freelance
Responsibilities
Own social channel strategy + execution across IG, TikTok, X/Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube Shorts, emerging platforms
Daily content ideation + video creation that is platform native (especially on TikTok + Reels). Creating video and video editing (e.g. CapCut, VN, or native apps) and basic graphic design (e.g. Canva or Photoshop)
Trendspotting: identify, test, and jump on relevant memes, audio, formats, and fandom cycles in real time
Write high performing captions/copy in Rebelle’s brand voice
Develop and manage a content calendar and posting cadence
Amplify Rebelle releases, IP announcements, book acquisitions, talent moments, BTS, etc
Create a two-way relationship with fans + romance audience communities across Rebelle projects and others
Qualification
Required
2-4 years experience in social content, digital marketing, creator or brand social
A viral-worthy personal or client portfolio is a must
Deep, genuine passion for and demonstrated knowledge of the Romance, Romcom, and Romantasy genres across books, film and television
Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to nail a compelling video hook and a snappy, shareable caption
Ability to create video and video editing (e.g. CapCut, VN, or native apps) and basic graphic design (e.g. Canva or Photoshop)
Ability to identify, test, and jump on relevant memes, audio, formats, and fandom cycles in real time
Highly collaborative, playful, fast, iterative, solutions-oriented, and pop-culture literate
Preferred
Formal work experience in social content or digital marketing
Chronically online (in a good way)
Clever storyteller who can make a TikTok trend idea that fits the Rebelle brand
Experimentation mindset: measure what works, evolve what works, kill what doesn't
