Biomedical Equipment Technician
Robert's Anesthesia Repair is an employee-owned business focused on veterinary anesthesia machine service for 30 years. The Biomedical Equipment Technician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair veterinary medical equipment, ensuring safe medical care for patients in veterinary hospitals.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, test and certify veterinary medical equipment, including: inhalation anesthesia machines, patient monitors, ICU oxygen recovery enclosures, dental units, medical oxygen supply systems, and waste anesthetic gas exhaust systems
Perform all onsite work related to installation, repair, management and maintenance
Consult with veterinary doctors and technicians on recommendations and safety enhancements
Build strong relationships and trust with customers and clients by consulting with and advocating for them
Be an effective, dependable, and devoted member of the team
Provide detailed documentation of service results in the field service system
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Work closely with company scheduling, inventory, service, training, and technical leads to ensure best experiences and outcomes for customers
Coordinate with animal hospital and animal research facility staff to self-schedule service appointments
Help our team build new service offerings for additional equipment types
Qualification
Required
Willing and able to log LOTS of miles driving
Safe driving record and ability to operate a vehicle safely
Up to 50% of driving travel, with regular time needed at our Golden office
Willing and able to regularly work 50+ hour weeks (commute time included)
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Strong communication and documentation skills
Moderate to strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
Experience in medical, animal health and/or critical equipment service industries
4+ years experience as a field service equipment maintenance technician in a related field (medical equipment, industrial equipment, automotive/construction equipment, plumbing, HVAC, facilities maintenance, electronics)
Biomedical, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineering or related field - Associate's or higher. Additional years of applicable experience can substitute for Associate's degree requirement on a year-for-year basis
Pass drug test and criminal background check
Non-existent or manageable animal allergies
Complete all company training within the defined timelines
Ability to handle taxing physical workload (lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying 50 lbs.+ daily)
Use of fine motor skills in hands and fingers
Color and detail vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision
Standing for extended periods
Reaching above and below shoulder level
Flexing and extending neck
Working while squatting, kneeling, or lying unassisted
Preferred
Preference will be given to candidates with medical equipment repair/service backgrounds and/or veterinary equipment experience
