Responsibilities

Work on the design, analysis, development, and qualification of pressurized liquid and gas systems on a reusable launch vehicle in extreme environments from cryogenic to hot gas temperatures
Share the team’s impact on all aspects of detailed mechanical design, requirements, layouts, analysis, component selection, modeling, drafting, manufacturing, and test definition

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent
4+ years proven experience
Proven experience in the design of aerospace fluid or mechanical systems
Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred)
Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools to analyze pressurized systems and secondary structures (ANSYS preferred)
Proficiency in crafting engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Proven understanding of fluid components such as valves, tubing, and pressurized hardware
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Experience with Project Management initiatives such as schedule maintenance and vendor management
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred

Master's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent
Experience designing systems with Hydrogen, Oxygen, Methane and Nitrogen in liquid and/or gaseous states
Experience with thermo-fluid solver applications Thermal Desktop (Sinda Fluint), AFT (Fathom/Arrow), Excel-based models, REFPROP
Proven understanding of materials properties and treatments
Hands-on experience building and testing mechanical assemblies or pressurized components/systems
Solid understanding of fabrication, integration processes, and quality control techniques relevant to tubes, machined components, and welded hardware
