Responsibilities

Set a positive example and be a role model by building relationships, being dependable, demonstrating initiative, responsibility, integrity, professionalism, and take responsibility to see that all tasks are done correctly
Maintain an atmosphere that encourages cross selling and a positive attitude, with well-trained staff and self-motivated individuals
Provide leadership level consultation in the areas of coaching, employee growth & development and performance management. Provide encouragement and recognition for outstanding performance and when needed, institute corrective disciplinary action
Provide leadership oversight for PFCU’s Branch Operations team
Meet with direct employees on a monthly basis to provide customized coaching and mentorship in the area of performance. Set goals and assist employees with developing plans for continual growth and success within their position. In a timely manner, utilize PFCU’s performance management software to document all employee performance management and development conversations
Actively participate in the Cross-Education program and support employees to reach their cross-education goals by providing in the moment coaching to help employees enhance their product knowledge and improve their cross-educating abilities
Monitor employees’ performance; conduct performance appraisals in a timely manner
Participate in the development and facilitation of presentations to employees including preparing for and conducting regular daily, weekly and full staff meetings. Discuss My Marc, PFCU’s Service expectations, opportunities for improvement, product knowledge, and changes in procedure or policy along with any general information for discussion. Effectively communicate with employees to ensure a positive and clear understanding of PFCU goals and direction
Assume the responsibility of any branch operation position, as needed, at any location
Have advanced knowledge of PFCU products & services, policies and procedures, or rules and regulations; and assist members and employees as needed and as opportunities present themselves
Perform all duties outlined in PFCU’s Vault Addendum
Review and verify monthly branch reports to ensure they are accurate and completed by the 10th of each month or the next business day
Certified in Financial Counseling. Will actively participate and obtain certification as the opportunity is available
Provide management with new or innovative ways for improvement of employees, service quality or products offered
Understand basic accounting functions as well as balance sheet and income statement for branch
Develop and apply procedures for the branch. Evaluate and recommend policies and enhancements for the branch; including but not limited to Building Security and Robbery Procedures. Host mock robbery and security exercises quarterly
Assist in the recruitment and select quality applicants for vacancies, ensuring that the credit union is efficiently staffed with competent employees
Access, modify and approve payroll for your employees, meeting established payroll deadlines
Ensures the branch maintains a positive image as a trustworthy and secure financial institution by implementing effective housekeeping practices, safety measures and creating a welcoming environment for members, with a focus on privacy confidentiality, and ease of use
Conducts administrative duties including scheduling employees, maintaining inventory control, ordering all supplies, furniture and equipment needed for the branch. Coordinates general maintenance including repairs and cleaning
Work with other management to ensure compliance with internal controls
Ensure that the branch is in compliance with federal laws and regulations set forth by the NCUA and other regulatory agencies
Pull reports needed to complete employee monthly performance sheets. Monitor office activity, including number of transactions, volume, employee errors, branch cross sales, new accounts, etc. to ensure the highest level of quality service to members
Monitor and investigate teller losses/errors and institute corrective flow of work and/or corrective disciplinary action where required
Provide new membership follow-up on all accounts opened. Schedule time for employees to follow up on their new membership accounts
Participate in the credit union’s long- and short-term planning
Attend PFCU Management, Team, and committee meetings, as requested
Perform any special jobs or projects as directed by Executive Management
Communicate properly with all employees and management to ensure positive and clear understanding of credit union goals and direction
Effectively present product and service information while representing PFCU at community events
Seek training opportunities to develop or enhance knowledge through training, conferences, reading, etcetera. Willingly prepare, participate in, and attend educational functions and meetings as requested by management
Complete and advance through the Leadership Evolution Program while steadily progressing through the steps outlined in your career development plan
Be able to assist with computer functions. Know the basic hardware configurations and routine software troubleshooting
Maintain cleanliness and security of work area and equipment including protecting the confidentiality of member information
Perform all other duties as assigned

Required

Two-year college degree or completion of specialized certification in a similar or related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a two-year degree or specialized certification
Three to five years of similar or related experience, with a minimum of two years' experience as an Assistant Branch Manager, Branch Manager, or equivalent leadership role is required
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, clients, members, and the general public
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Must have the capability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized and non-standardized situations
Excellent knowledge of the credit union's core system
Excellent working knowledge of the forms and documentation used by the credit union
Strong knowledge of credit union products and services
Excellent understanding of the Credit Union departments and procedures
Punctual, self-motivated, confident and accurate
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal
Able to stay calm under pressure
Professional attitude; supportive management
Neat and professional in appearance and dress
Ability to create good word of mouth; proven ability to effectively refer products and services
