Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise databases, data lakes, and data warehouses, including schema design, data modeling, and security architecture
Build and manage ETL pipelines, data migration plans, and database integrations
Administer PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases, including backup/recovery, replication, DR environments, role-based access control (RBAC), patching, and performance tuning
Monitor and optimize database performance (CPU, memory, disk, indexing), analyze logs, and resolve bottlenecks in both application and database tiers
Ensure data quality and governance via validation rules, metadata management, and adherence to industry compliance standards
Implement security hardening and access controls in PostgreSQL and MongoDB; Perform audits and resolve security infractions
Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate database operations in AWS Cloud, monitor systems, and maintain SLAs
Perform database server maintenance tasks (e.g., upgrades, vacuum, analyze) and storage management
Develop optimized SQL and NoSQL queries, create indexes, and support both structured and unstructured data needs
Support full system testing efforts (unit, integration, UAT), and work closely with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with business goals
Lead planning and execution of disaster recovery, ensure system reliability, and contribute to deployment playbooks and batch execution sequencing
Provide innovative solutions for data extraction, sharing, and infrastructure cost optimization
Qualification
Required
6+ years of experience in designing databases, writing complex queries and reports, and delivering scalable enterprise database solutions
4+ years of experience building complex data extractions and queries using PostgreSQL, Informatica, and MongoDB in enterprise environments
4+ years of experience performing database maintenance in production and lower environments, including monitoring batch jobs and production activity for operational improvements
4+ years of experience in document management systems and related integrations
2+ years of experience leading or contributing to large-volume database migration efforts
Proven hands-on experience with PostgreSQL administration, including patch management, performance tuning, writing stored procedures, and maintaining high-availability setups
Solid understanding of database architecture and design, including normalization, indexing, partitioning, and replication
Proficient in data modeling, ETL processes, data warehousing, and SQL performance optimization
Experience supporting applications on AWS cloud infrastructure, including AMI, EC2, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native operations
Preferred
Experience with other open-source or commercial databases (MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, etc.)
Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Certification in PostgreSQL administration or AWS Solutions Architect
