Responsibilities
Leads, manages and directs the work of project managers and provides managerial oversight for multiple projects, assigns projects, monitors work and deliverables
Guides process development at a team level, and manages high-risk, high-impact and strategic projects across a multi-disciplinary, multi-function group of stakeholders
Builds, trains, and manages project teams to expand their capabilities by establishing best practices, policies, project management methodologies, quality assurance and controls, tools, and templates
Responsible for the coordination and completion of various and complex projects
When serving as a project manager, oversees all aspects of projects and functions in a leadership capacity within the project
Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors and summarizes project progress
Prepares reports for upper management and government agencies regarding project status
Works with leadership to manage projects and initiatives
Interacts with representatives from various teams to develop, implement, and manage policies and procedures related to assigned projects
Responsible for managing project budget compliance to ensure project stays on budget
Budgets and defines expectations and scope of work for service contracts and monitors and reports on progress
Budgets and defines expectations for external research
Communicates with researchers regarding feasibility and limitations of data requests
Collaborates effectively across teams within the Center
Develops and maintains project documentation and may prepare and/or make oral presentations
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
4 years of experience in project or program management required
Bachelor's Degree required
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects
This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code 51.215 and Texas Government Code 411.094
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas
Preferred
Background or exposure to research
Demonstrated skills in communications and presentations
6 years of experience in project or program management, preferred
3 years of supervisory experience, preferred
Consulting experience a plus
Master's Degree preferred
