Accounting Manager

Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all financial operations, including payroll month-end close activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion. This includes monitoring and analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to senior management and key stakeholders
Supervise the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) teams, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions. Provide guidance and support to these teams while implementing effective internal controls and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce errors
Drive the establishment and management of key performance indicators (KPIs), regularly reviewing financial performance against organizational goals. Conduct root cause analysis of discrepancies or inefficiencies in financial processes and implement corrective actions to improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations
Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial strategies align with the organization’s broader goals, providing financial insights and reporting that support decision-making. Contribute to audit preparation, financial statement review, and other key financial management tasks as needed
Ensure continuous development of financial processes to improve overall organizational effectiveness
Collaborate with various departments to align financial strategies with company goals
Provide guidance and mentorship to the AP and AR teams, fostering an environment of growth and efficiency
Actively participate in management meetings to provide financial insights and contribute to decision-making processes
Perform other duties as required by the Director of Finance
Qualification
Required
Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, practices, and regulations
Experience with payroll management, month-end close, reconciliations, and internal controls
Advanced analytical skills with a focus on data trending and root cause analysis
Ability to troubleshoot and improve accounting systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Strong initiative and problem-solving skills
Ability to understand systems and processes

Time management
4-year college degree or equivalent in a business-related accounting & finance field
4+ years of accounting/finance experience
Any equivalent combination of education and experience provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
Experience with financial software and accounting platforms
Preferred
Not-for-profit accounting and leadership experience
Familiarity with Sage Intacct
Familiarity with GAAP, accrual, and cash basis of accounting
