They are seeking an IT Systems Engineer II who will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency of IT systems.

Responsibilities

Analyze, design, and implement complex IT systems and infrastructure solutions to meet business needs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and integrate new technologies
Monitor and maintain system performance, reliability, and security
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner
Create and maintain detailed system documentation, including configuration files, installation guides, and troubleshooting procedures
Document system architecture and design specifications
Work closely with other IT staff and departments to identify requirements and ensure compatibility of systems
Coordinate with vendors for hardware and software procurement and support
Implement and maintain security protocols for systems, networks, and data
Conduct regular security audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards
Utilize monitoring tools to analyze system performance and availability
Identify and remediate performance bottlenecks and capacity issues
Design and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies to protect critical data and services
Conduct regular testing of backup and recovery procedures to ensure organizational readiness
Provide technical assistance and support to end-users as needed
Develop user training materials and conduct training sessions to improve system utilization
Evaluate existing systems and processes to recommend and implement enhancements
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate best practices
Participate in IT projects, ensuring timely completion of deliverables
Assist in project planning and resource allocation to meet project timelines
Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and organizational policies
Generate reports on system performance, security incidents, and configuration changes for management review

Required

Bachelor's degree OR 8 years equivalent of experience in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
Demonstrated experience in a similar role – developing and implementing business processes in Workday
Official transcripts required
Current and valid Texas driver's license
Work hours may extend beyond the regular, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. workday, including weekends and holidays to provide immediate support due to system failures on a 24/7 basis. Will participate in an on-call rotation
Ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure of Dallas College
Enhance the design and implementation of advanced IT systems and infrastructure solutions based on complex business requirements, including administrative technology, classroom technology, asset management, and audio-visual systems
Proficiently install, configure, and deploy sophisticated hardware and software components such as high-capacity storage systems, advanced networking devices, and enterprise-level operating systems, laptops, and various specialized hardware
Proficiently identify, troubleshoot, and resolve intricate issues with minimal oversight, leveraging experience and advanced diagnostic tools
Execute comprehensive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal reliability, security, and performance of IT systems, including administrative and classroom technology, and audio-visual systems
Efficiently troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal downtime
Monitor system performance and capacity at an intermediate level, making strategic recommendations for improvements and future growth
Promote security measures to protect IT systems, including administrative & classroom technology, and audio-visual systems from cyber threats and unauthorized access
Maintain compliance with security policies and regulations
Enhance and maintain documentation such as system configurations, procedures, and user guides for IT systems, including administrative & classroom technology, asset management and audio-visual systems
Review and improve records of system configurations, changes, and maintenance activities
Collaborate across the organization to understand requirements, configuration, and testing of IT solutions, including administrative & classroom technology, asset management and audio-visual systems
Provide technical guidance and support to other IT staff and end-users
Experience working in Agile, Lean environments
Research new technologies and solutions to improve IT infrastructure and operations, including administrative & classroom technology, asset management and audio-visual systems
Review hardware and software products to determine their suitability for the organization's needs
Technical competency in the design and architecture of classroom technology and audio-visual systems
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks based on changing business needs

Preferred

CompTIA A+ or CAPM certifications are preferred
