Mechanical Design and Automation Engineer
VeroTouch is a venture-backed construction technology company focused on transforming residential construction through advanced manufacturing and robotics. The Mechanical Design and Automation Engineer will design, develop, and deploy mechanical and automated systems to enhance construction technologies, managing projects from concept through on-site implementation.

Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for automation equipment, robotics, and construction technologies, including 3D printing systems
Create detailed CAD models, drawings, and specifications to support prototyping, testing, iteration, and production
Lead mechanical design efforts from early concept development through final production release
Integrate mechanical designs with electronic systems, sensors, actuators, and control components
Support development and implementation of automation solutions, including mechatronic systems and basic control logic
Perform light coding or scripting (e.g., Python, C++, or similar) to support system integration, testing, diagnostics, and data collection
Manage assigned projects autonomously, including defining scope, timelines, and technical approach
Drive projects end-to-end, from concept through on-site deployment and operational handoff
Troubleshoot deployed systems, iterate designs based on real-world feedback, and support continuous improvement efforts
Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including construction operations, manufacturing, and leadership
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or related technical field
5–10 years of professional experience in mechanical design, automation, robotics, or related product development roles
Demonstrated experience taking systems or products from concept through production and deployment
Proven ability to manage work independently and deliver results without close supervision
Advanced proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks or equivalent)
Working knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, C++, or similar)
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Owner's mindset with a bias toward action, accountability, and follow-through
Ability to work on active construction sites and perform standard on-site activities
Ability to stand, walk, and move around job sites for extended periods
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold
Ability to lift, carry, or move materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred
Experience with mechatronics, sensor integration, and electromechanical systems
Experience supporting deployed hardware in real-world or industrial environments
