Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, inventory, cost accounting, month-end/year-end close, and financial statement preparation
Prepare and present accurate financial statements, budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, cash flow reports, and management reports (monthly, quarterly, annually)
Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships; ensure liquidity and sound financial structure
Lead budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting in close partnership with the President/CEO and department heads
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and all federal/state/local requirements; coordinate audits and tax filings
Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
Perform all Human Resources and Employee Benefits functions, including preparing and managing hiring forms, termination forms, insurance contracts, confidentiality agreements, benefits enrollment, and employee file/compliance management
Monitor the operation of the company headquarters for the President/CEO who usually works from another location and supervise the Office Manager who also processes sales orders. A Controller residing in the vicinity of Neutrex is considered beneficial
Interact on a constant basis with Order Processing, Sales, and Manufacturing staff to provide financial insights, cost analysis, pricing support, and operational reporting. Provide backup to process domestic and international orders
Support strategic initiatives, including capital expenditures, facilities improvements, financing, and long-term financial planning
Ultimately assume additional corporate governance duties as Secretary/Treasurer (e.g. board meeting preparation, minute-taking, corporate filings, treasury oversight, etc.)

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred but not required
Minimum 5 years of Controller or similar experience preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, cost accounting, internal controls, and HR/benefits administration, including for remote workers in other states
Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (manufacturing software experience a plus), HRIS/benefits platforms, computer file organization, Word skills, and advanced Excel skills
Proven ability to manage month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and employee benefits in a small, fast-paced setting
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to present financial/HR insights to non-finance leaders
High integrity, loyalty, attention to detail, and ability to properly handle confidential information
Demonstrated history of job stability and strong preference for long-term commitment
Cultural fit for a small headquarters environment, who will be respected and liked by the team and willing to serve as a reliable partner for the President/CEO
Interest in growing into corporate Secretary/Treasurer responsibilities over time (corporate governance, board support, treasury management)
Ability to work independently and to closely coordinate with President/CEO
