Responsibilities
Source and hire crew for all projects, including the most complex ones, ensuring the best talent is selected for each production
Extremely confident in handling detailed logistics for all projects including gear, locations, parking, petty cash, etc
Can negotiate with vendors effectively without prior prompting or direction. Comes for approval only after exhausting all budgetary options
Exhibits expert knowledge of our production processes and provides feedback on possible enhancements
Ensure crew are sourced and hired on-time, maintaining organization even during chaotic or extremely busy periods
Unphased by rush shoots regardless of their complexity. Capable of sourcing a strong production team & creating a plan on a very short timeline without missing any important details
Maintain high levels of organization, rarely missing deadlines and effectively communicating crew updates to internal teams
Ensure crew are always set up for success, with the majority delivering excellent results. Very few to no hires are marked as DNH (Do Not Hire)
Assist new hires and peers in developing problem-solving skills, fostering a collaborative environment
Be seen as a natural leader and someone others want to work with, capable of rallying teams to deliver for client projects
Champion the work culture internally, maintaining a positive attitude and contributing to a productive work environment especially for other coordinators as well as the freelance team
Ability to handle international production for cities on or off of our production map
Comfortable handling “elevated doc-style” productions by working with Creative Producers and executing more scripted aspects of our production process
Comfortable sourcing and booking locations in Los Angeles, as well as in unique locations
Qualification
Required
2+ years of coordinating experience
Extensive experience in physical production and crew management
Proven expertise in negotiation and crew sourcing
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead and mentor others effectively
Advanced knowledge of production equipment and processes
Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and solving problems
Ability to work with a high volume of projects on a weekly basis
