HVAC Field Superintendent

Balam Talent is working with a well-established mechanical services contractor specializing in HVAC and industrial refrigeration service and retrofit work. They are looking for a high-level Field Superintendent to oversee multiple active jobs, manage a field team, and maintain strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

Oversee 10–15 active service and retrofit projects at a time (no ground-up construction)
Manage and support a small but growing field team (starting with a handful, scaling toward ~10)
Act as the primary field lead across multiple job sites, balancing manpower, schedules, and subcontractors
Maintain strong customer relationships across a wide range of project sizes
Provide hands-on technical guidance when needed (this is not a purely administrative role)
Coordinate closely with internal leadership and office teams to keep jobs running smoothly

Required

20+ years in the HVAC/R industry
Background as a Foreman, General Foreman, or Field Superintendent
Strong experience in HVAC and/or industrial refrigeration (service or install)
Deep field knowledge — you've either welded pipe, fitted pipe, or directly led crews who do
Ability to manage multiple jobs independently while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction
Union experience is welcome and valued
Strong understanding of the Southern California HVAC/R customer base
