LHH is seeking an Accounting Manager for a growing, nationally operating organization in a regulated, fast-paced environment. The role involves managing the monthly close process, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards, and partnering with auditors and tax providers.

Responsibilities

Manage and improve the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Assist with preparation of consolidated U.S. GAAP financial statements, including footnotes and supporting schedules
Support technical accounting matters, including research, documentation, and position memos for complex transactions
Develop, maintain, and test internal controls over financial reporting in compliance with SOX requirements
Partner with external auditors during annual audits and financial statement reviews
Coordinate with external tax providers to support timely and accurate federal, state, and international tax filings
Ensure compliance with applicable financial and regulatory requirements
Review contracts and agreements to confirm appropriate accounting treatment
Support ERP system enhancements, implementations, and ongoing system controls
Maintain journal entry support and accounting system access controls
Monitor daily cash balances, prepare cash reconciliations, and support banking relationships
Mentor and develop accounting staff while supporting broader finance initiatives as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
Experience with internal controls and SOX compliance
Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a hands-on, operational role
Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams

Preferred

CPA preferred
Background in a public company or highly regulated environment preferred
