Academic Human Resources Analyst 2
UCLA is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative HR Generalist / Academic Personnel Analyst to support a dynamic academic environment. The role involves managing the full employee lifecycle for staff and academic appointees, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and serving as a key liaison for academic personnel actions.

Responsibilities
Manage the full employee lifecycle for staff, academic appointees, graduate students, and student workers
Ensure compliance with University policy, collective bargaining agreements, and state and federal regulations
Play a critical role in onboarding and off-boarding, academic appointments, payroll processing, benefits guidance, and labor relations
Provide data-driven insights to campus partners such as Financial Aid and the Career Center
Oversee appointments, merits, promotions, reappointments, and leaves for Unit 18 lecturers and academic administrators across multiple departments
Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and policy alignment across all HR and academic personnel actions using various systems
Qualification
Required
Experience using the UCPath (PeopleSoft), Payroll Time Reporting (TRS) systems, and other online systems (JDXpert,iCIMS, Jasmine, GoGrad, CDW, Document Direct)
Functional knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software (i.e. Word, Excel, and Access)
Demonstrated proficiency performing standard payroll operations including auditing, timekeeping documents, computing and preparing payroll and reconciling payroll ledgers
Skill in analyzing problems and the ability to formulate effective solutions
Working knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the differences in reporting time between exempt and non-exempt employees
Ability to analyze a complex set of data and make recommendations based on this analysis
Ability to attend to detail and ensure accuracy of work under shifting workloads and frequent interruptions
Skill in interpreting, explaining, and applying complex academic personnel policies and procedures
Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff and faculty administrators at all levels, from units to campus AAPO
Bachelor's Degree in related area or equivalent experience / training
Preferred
Working knowledge of University Work-Study Programs including policies and procedures and ability to recruit, hire, train, supervise and evaluate student staff
Working knowledge of OPUS and Interfolio
