Parks Field Supervisor - Recreation Division
NEOGOV is seeking a Parks Field Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the City’s recreation facilities and staff. The role includes supervising operations, ensuring safety compliance, and providing leadership to staff while managing budgets and contracts.

Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of aquatic facilities in compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements
Assist with golf course operations, including tournaments, leagues, customer service coordination, and communication with staff
Ensure required licenses, permits, and certifications for pools and the golf course are obtained, maintained, and renewed
Assist with budget monitoring, purchasing, and development
Assist with oversight of service contracts and vendors
Maintain schedules, staffing records, inspections, certifications, and operational reports
Assist with the hiring of seasonal and full-time staff
Provide input on equipment needs, capital improvements, and operational efficiencies
Serve as a liaison between the Department Director and staff, communicating priorities, expectations, and policies
Train, coach, evaluate, and discipline employees in accordance with City policies and procedures
Address public concerns and service requests related to recreation facilities and programs
Attend meetings as required
Enforce safety polices, procedures, and best practices for staff and patrons
Conduct facility inspections and address hazards
Respond to incidents, accidents, and emergencies; complete required documentation and reports
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism among staff
Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Carry a City-issued cellphone and be available for after-hours calls and respond to emergencies required by the Department Director
Assist with emergency operations, including severe weather response and facility closures
Assist with winter operations as assigned, including participation in snow and ice control and snow plow operations
Provide backup supervisory coverage for other operations staff as needed
Performs other related duties as required or assigned
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in Parks and Recreation, Sports Management, Facility Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience
Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in construction and maintenance, including at least one (1) year of experience in a supervisory capacity
Knowledge of construction and maintenance principles and practices
Knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision and management
Knowledge of athletic fields and golf course maintenance
Knowledge of state pool code and Red Cross requirements for pool staff
Knowledge of occupational safety rules and practices
Knowledge of municipal budgets
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Ability to work effectively with employees and the public and handle reasonably necessary stress
Ability to make cost estimates for project needs, including equipment and materials
Ability to electronically plan and schedule work projects and personnel, write reports, and maintain digital records and files
Ability to perform manual labor in all weather conditions
Ability to operate computers, tablets, smartphones, and adapt to new technology
Ability to create and evaluate maintenance contracts
Skill in operating a variety of tools and equipment used in park construction and maintenance
Must possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class B with air brake, and a good driving record; the City may allow the appointee the ability to obtain a valid CDL within a time period designated by department or City policy
Be a Certified Pool Operator or have the ability to obtain certification within a time period designated by department or City policy
Ability to obtain a Red Cross lifeguard instructor certification if necessary
