Responsibilities

Perform research on TPS and paint methods, run material trades, and make recommendations for flight configurations
Create TPS/paint test panels and run development testing campaigns to prove out concepts
Document test results and create reports in support of qualification
Coordinate the application of paint, TPS, and Insulation on launch vehicle modules
Support/develop cost estimates for hardware, processes and organizations
Develop overall process sequencing for vehicle assembly and make real-time adjustments as needed to deal with production issues
Develop and maintain process schedules
Interpret design engineering documents into work orders that direct touch labor on the vehicle integration floor
Maintain documentation pedigree to support human capable flight
Take ownership over configuration management of flight inventory
Develop tooling concepts for assembly fixtures, procure and commission this equipment
Support hardware integration on the floor and troubleshoot issues as they arise throughout the day
Provide design for manufacturability review of vehicle designs, and make recommendations to improve quality, simplify operations and reduce cost
Develop the internal specifications required to support the manufacture of human capable flight vehicles
Develop process controls on critical manufacturing characteristics
Develop and implement preventive actions related to discrepancies
Take ownership of product quality, establishing procedures and processes to support continuous improvement
Use of process mapping, Kaizen, and other tools to dramatically reduce cycle time, defects and waste
Design and populate your assigned work center with equipment required to produce human capable launch vehicles

Required

B.S. degree or higher and 4-6 years experience in Mechanical, Aerospace, or other relevant engineering field
Design and analysis experience in Creo, CATIA, or other 3D modeling programs
Analysis experience and FEM generation (Hypermesh, ANSYS, or others)
Experience with work order creation, mBOMs, and configuration management
Strong written, personal, and computer skills. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at the executive leadership level and on the shop floor
5+ years of demonstrated resourcefulness and execution within complex manufacturing environments
Estimated 10% travel to FL and other sites as needed to support the job

Preferred

Experience in processes of spray painting large aerospace structures
Experience in processes of applying various aerospace Thermal Protection Systems (TPS)
Experience in processes of applying spray on foam insulation (SOFI) and other foam products
