Responsibilities
Supervise daily laboratory activities, ensuring timely and accurate sample analysis
Provide technical support and guidance to analysts and technicians on routine procedures and equipment use
Monitor compliance with SOPs, safety protocols, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025, NELAC, EPA)
Assist in calibration, validation, and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation
Review and approve test results, documentation, and data entry in LIMS
Support onboarding and training of new staff in technical procedures and compliance
Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure equipment is properly maintained
Collaborate with the Laboratory Manager to implement process improvements and meet performance goals
Prepare reports and documentation related to lab operations and quality metrics
Promote a safe, organized, and efficient work environment
Qualification
Required
Strong understanding of laboratory testing principles and instrumentation
Familiarity with LIMS and technical documentation practices
Effective communication and team leadership skills
Ability to train and mentor junior staff
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field
3–5 years of laboratory experience, including some supervisory or lead responsibilities
OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout laboratory and office environments
Manual dexterity to operate laboratory instruments and computer systems
Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
Ability to work in a laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals and environmental samples, using appropriate PPE
