Required
An advanced Civil Engineering degree and relevant experience
Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience, OR
MS degree and 12 years' experience, OR
BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience
Recognized as an internal expert in area of expertise with ability to contribute to advancing knowledge in field through internal/external publications and professional society presentations
Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems in structural engineering field
Minimum 8 years of recent experience in design and analysis of NRC or DOE regulated nuclear facilities
Experience with finite element analysis (required)
Working knowledge of STAAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS or similar computer codes
Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards; specifically, IBC, AISC (ASD, LRFD, & N690), ACI (318 & 349) and ASCE (4, 7 & 43)
Ability to perform field walk-downs of job sites, which may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces, walking distances over half a mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, and dressing out in protective clothing
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE 'Q' security clearance
Preferred
Active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years
Previous SRS experience
Current Registration as a Professional Engineer in Civil or Structural Engineering
Experience in analysis for structural response to explosion (blast/detonation and deflagration)
Experience with DOE natural phenomena hazard (NPH), Standard 1020, criteria
