Research And Development Engineer

Advantage Technical is seeking an R&D Engineer II to support the development of products, materials, processes, and equipment for projects of moderate complexity. This role involves compiling, analyzing, and reporting operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for new or modified products and processes.

Responsibilities

Contribute to project teams involved in product design, material testing, specification development, process capability studies, and research investigations (including animal and clinical studies)
Design and coordinate standard engineering tests and experiments
Develop, procure, and fabricate tooling and fixtures
Independently plan and schedule work to meet project timelines
Troubleshoot issues related to product design, materials, and processes
Summarize, analyze, and interpret test results
Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal stakeholders
Maintain accurate and compliant engineering documentation
Generate concepts and designs for new products or processes and submit idea disclosures
Provide training or work direction to technicians as needed
Collaborate with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing teams to ensure project success
Demonstrate strong understanding of PDP/TPD systems through high‑quality deliverables
Build quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance with all applicable quality system requirements

Required

BS degree: 2–4 years of experience
MS degree: 0–2 years of experience
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry/Chemistry, or related field
2–3 years of experience with polymers or biomaterials
Hands‑on experience working in a wet lab environment
Familiarity with analytical techniques and material characterization methods
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship
