Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize search functionalities using Apache Solr and Lucidworks
Build scalable and high-availability search systems delivering fast and accurate search results
Improve search relevance through query refinement, ranking algorithms, and relevance tuning
Configure and manage Apache Solr instances for performance, scalability, and accuracy
Perform query analysis and optimization to improve search response times
Monitor Solr health, logs, metrics, and overall system performance
Handle Solr maintenance, including version upgrades, patch installations, and configuration changes
Design and implement efficient data ingestion pipelines to feed Solr indexes
Support both real-time and batch ingestion from multiple data sources
Ensure data quality, consistency, and optimal indexing strategies
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to search performance and indexing
Ensure system stability, resilience, and continuous availability
Collaborate with platform and data teams to support enterprise search needs
Work closely with application teams, data engineers, and stakeholders
Recommend improvements to search architecture and relevance models
Stay current with advancements in search technologies and best practices
Qualification
Required
8+ years of hands-on experience with Apache Solr and Lucidworks
Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise search platforms
Expertise in query optimization, relevance tuning, and ranking algorithms
Experience with large-scale data processing and custom search implementations
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Preferred
Experience with Elasticsearch or other search technologies
Exposure to Apache Spark and large-scale data processing platforms
Experience working with big data environments
