Grants and Compliance Manager

United Community Family Services (UCFS-CALC) is a trusted, community-based nonprofit organization serving families and individuals in need. They are seeking a resourceful Grants and Compliance Manager to guide clients through complex systems and help them access supportive services under multiple grant-funded programs.

Non-profit Organization Management

Responsibilities

Participates in the development, evaluation and implementation of annual plans for grant development by working collaboratively with the CEO, COO and staff in designing grant programs in order to produce grant applications and/or proposals
Understands program and Agency funding priorities and financial goals. Helps to meet the government, corporate and foundation support goal of $800,000 - $1,500,000 per year
Develops individual grant proposals, letters of intent, concept papers and other proposals in accordance with each grant-making organization’s preferences and guidelines. Write high-quality grant proposal narratives, applications, including compiling required attachments, appendices and forms
Develops goals, logic models and outcomes for grant submissions
Develops budgets and budget justifications for grant proposals
Writing grant-required quarterly, annual, and final reports for awarded grants
Compiles statistical and informational data for use in reports
Collaborates with various team members, including CEO, COO, program staff, and Accounting to collect accurate and current program information and data for use in proposals and end-of-period grant reports. Ensures compliance and responsiveness with funder guidelines and requests
Identify and communicate with community agencies and external organizations thought to be relevant to the funding project and solicit their support, including letters, input, and participation as appropriate
Maintain a grant calendar and a database system for tracking all grant submissions and reporting deadlines
Generate acknowledgements and other letters and communications as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 3 years of grant writing experience at a nonprofit required, including demonstrated experience with securing grants of $1000,000+
Experience writing and managing government, corporate and foundation grants
Knowledge of Michigan and Southeast Michigan area foundations and corporations
Proven superb writing and editing skills required
Proven superb project management skills required
Experience with goal-setting, metrics tracking and reporting
Possess a knowledge of, and a passion for, the work of human service organizations
Detail-oriented, organized, deadline-driven
Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
High proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
