Responsibilities
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL databases
Manage schemas, indexes, partitioning, and PL/pgSQL routines
Optimize database performance, queries, and resource utilization
Implement backup/restore strategies (pgBackRest, WAL archiving)
Configure and support HA/DR (Streaming Replication, Logical Replication, Patroni)
Monitor health, performance, and capacity using pg_stat views and monitoring tools
Ensure database security, access control, patching, and auditing
Troubleshoot database issues, deadlocks, replication lag, and performance bottlenecks
Automate routine admin tasks (Shell/Python/Ansible)
Support cloud-managed Postgres (AWS/Azure/GCP) as required
Qualification
Required
Strong PostgreSQL administration (4–10+ years). Strong Data Base Management System knowledge
Expertise in SQL, PL/pgSQL, indexing, and query tuning
Solid experience with replication, HA frameworks, and backups
Good Linux fundamentals and scripting skills
Hands-on experience with cloud-based Postgres
