Corporate Accountant

CHEMTREC® is seeking a Corporate Accountant responsible for supporting the accounts payable process and ensuring financial and tax reporting accuracy. The role includes processing payments, managing expense reimbursements, and maintaining compliance with record retention.

Responsibilities

Processes weekly payment batches, facilitate corrective actions and execute weekly vendor payments via Electronic Payment Processing (EPP) system
Manages the review of Concur expense reports against ACC policy and process employee business travel reimbursements twice per week
Trains all new hires on vendor payment and employee expense reimbursement systems
Reconciles and processes all virtual and physical corporate credit card transactions and payments
Facilitates new and changes to vendor verifications and vendor setups
Supports subsidiary CHEMREC LLC with payment process cycles on an as needed basis
Prepares adjusting journal entries to correct general ledger misclassifications
Reconciles balance sheet accounts and reviews political contributions to ensure 1120 POL tax filing accuracy
Manages accounting help desk ticket system to ensure timely completion of tickets
Performs quarterly reviews for 1099 and 1042 tax filings to ensure accuracy
Maintains fixed assets and post monthly depreciation
Maintains accounting files and assists with record retention compliance
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Associates' degree in accounting, or equivalent years of experience
Two years accounting experience
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
Ability to work individually, as well as within a team, to achieve stated goals and objectives for the position and department as a whole
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
