Responsibilities
Prepare railway and transit designs including development of plans and specifications
Responsible for the completion of high-quality rail and transit engineering projects on budget and schedule with a high level of customer satisfaction
Ensure that all design documents, reports, inspections, and information required to serve the client are properly prepared and reported
Ensure client schedules are met
Support the Senior Project Managers through the entire project’s development to complete documents on schedule
Preparation and checking of design calculations, quantities, cost estimates, specifications, and project plans
Guidelines may be available but require adaptation or interpretation to determine appropriate courses of action
Availability to support the TYPSA Group Railway Department in overseas projects
Qualification
Required
Minimum bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of experience on Rail and Transit projects and preferred with experience with California transportation/transit agencies, including LA Metro, Metrolink, RCTC, OCTA, SANBAG, and Amtrak as well as Class I railroads operating in the region
California P.E. certification or able to get California PE within 6 months of hire
Proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
Valid Driver's License, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier
Preferred
Primavera and Project Wise software is a plus
Local experience in California is highly preferred
