Responsibilities
Supports and coordinates the maintenance of complex network hardware and systems; investigates and resolves network and hardware matters of significance; researches, analyzes, isolates and resolves errors; participates in the assessment and evaluation of current and future systems
Provides technical support and guidance on network design issues
Implements testing routines or scripts; may conduct more complex testing to meet specified requirements
Implements and maintains more complex LAN and WLAN in accordance with specified requirements
Assists in creating methods and procedures for new data technologies to ensure performance
Participates in discussions regarding project decisions and project direction at the management level
Assists with proposal documentation and information to meet customer requirements
Assists with data network investment decisions to management and customers based on results of independent assessment of current and future network performance, stability, and network management issues
May provide leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel
Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizens (preferred) or Permanent Residents
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred
3-5 years of experience in networks (Hands-On)
Cisco Systems
Switching (switching layer 2 and 3)
spanning tree
Routing
Wireless
TCP/UDP IP Protocol
Knowledge of industrial networking an asset
Incident management
Change management
Problem management
Asset management
Experience working with network systems, networking principles
Experience working with network software and hardware
Experience working with proprietary software and hardware
Preferred
ServiceNow experience preferred
Skilled in time, priority, and task management
Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
Good communication skills to interact with team members and support personnel
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good ability to analyze and solve complex problems using analytical and creative problem-solving skills for design, creation and testing of networks
