They are seeking a Design Engineer to support Design/Build operations for the Commercial Division, focusing on mechanical design activities and collaboration with other engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities
Support Design/Build operations for the Commercial Division of Sunset Air across the full project lifecycle—from concept through construction and As-Built documentation
Perform mechanical design activities including: Heating/cooling load calculations, Ductwork layout, design, and sizing, Hydronic/piping design and sizing, and Solar PV system design (as applicable)
Develop and maintain design drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and Revit (BIM)
Coordinate BIM/Revit models and resolve clashes in collaboration with internal teams and external partners/trades
Partner closely with Engineers, Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to support constructability, field needs, and real-time design adjustments
Participate in design reviews and internal coordination meetings to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and execution
Update drawings and models based on field conditions, RFIs, and project changes
Create and finalize As-Built documentation reflecting installed conditions and project closeout requirements
Organize and maintain project files, drawings, and model versions per company standards
Continuously learn, adopt, and apply company design standards, tools, and workflows, including ongoing development in AutoCAD and Revit
Qualification
Required
BS in Engineering or related field
Proficiency with PC-based applications including Outlook, Excel, Word
Ability to manage responsibilities independently with minimal supervision
Mechanical aptitude is a plus
High level of attention to detail
Positive attitude and willingness to work
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Operate with the highest level of professional and ethical conduct
Must have an excellent driving record
Must pass a background check and drug screen
Preferred
EIT
Experience in HVAC and plumbing design
Familiarity with the Autodesk AutoCAD/Revit Platform
