The role supports project execution by developing, maintaining, and reporting on key project performance metrics while collaborating with various teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and schedule adherence.

Responsibilities
Monitor, track, and report project costs against budgets, forecasts, and approved AFEs
Maintain detailed cost models and variance analyses, identifying risks and recommending corrective actions
Process and reconcile purchase orders, invoices, vendor documentation, and procurement activity
Compare actual project performance to established schedules and milestones
Assist in maintaining integrated cost–schedule performance dashboards
Prepare project status reports, presentations, and executive summaries for stakeholders
Develop and maintain project controls processes including cost control, budget updates, forecast adjustments, cash flow tracking, and project accruals
Support project managers in evaluating changes, scope adjustments, and potential impacts
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of project documentation, including reports, supporting schedules, and required compliance forms
Assist with data collection, validation, and quality checks to ensure integrity of project records
Work closely with procurement on purchase orders, vendor onboarding, contract updates, and cost alignment
Coordinate with finance teams to ensure accurate accounting of capital expenditures
Partner with engineering and operations to understand project milestones, construction progress, and execution timelines
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline
3+ years of experience in project controls, cost analysis, or financial analysis for capital projects
Strong understanding of project execution, engineering workflows, and financial principles
Proficiency with ERP systems, Excel (pivot tables, lookups), and project management tools (e.g., Visio, Maximo preferred)
Ability to interpret technical documents, schedules, and financial data
Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving skills
Preferred
Experience with large-scale construction, energy, or infrastructure projects
Knowledge of procurement processes, capital budgeting, and schedule integration
Prior work with project controls software or cost‑tracking systems
