Application Developer Lead - Technical
Inside Higher Ed is seeking an Application Developer Lead - Technical to join Georgia State University's University Advancement team. The role involves leading the Ascend application for constituent management, supporting data quality inquiries, and managing smaller programming projects.

Responsibilities
Main responsibility is to assume the lead role on the Ascend application for constituent management for Advancement. The product is used to prepare and deliver a variety of interactive and printed reports, necessary to support the development of custom reporting. Assist with the development of a data warehouse strategy and the leveraging of MS Power BI
Responds to customer report requests and data quality inquiries. Includes administration, application troubleshooting, design, programming, and testing
Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding. Includes analysis and documentation of business processes and functional requirements
Consider the business implications of applying technology to the business environment
Translates functional requirements and prepares detailed report specifications from which reports are written
May also serve as project manager for smaller programming projects, developing a project plan/schedule, coordinating the project team's activities, and reporting project status to management and customers
Consults and collaborates with personnel across the Advancement Department and other technical departments to coordinate activities related to projects assigned
Prepares and provides activity and status reports on assigned activities
Conducting investigations and experiments to verify the quality of software to provide an objective, independent view of the software

Individuals will also be required to work occasional nights and weekends, when necessary, and to travel (by plane, train, or car) at least 15% of the time within and outside the state of Georgia

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience
Preferred
Knowledge of data processing principles, practices, and equipment
Knowledge of large integrated systems and event-driven programming
Knowledge of Windows, voice response systems, and programming languages, such as COBOL
Effective time management, customer service, analytical, and organizational skills
Effective oral and verbal communication skills with external and internal customers
Ability to multitask, train staff, and use independent judgment
