Legal, Regulatory, & Enforcement Intern - LREP-2026-10i
The NJ Department of Environmental Protection is responsible for advancing environmental enforcement initiatives. The Legal, Regulatory, & Enforcement Intern will engage in legal research and writing related to enforcement matters and civil rights efforts within the department.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Perform detailed legal research on current and emerging issues as they are presented to the office
Analyze and summarize case law, statutes, and other regulatory materials
Draft legal memoranda and other documents as needed
Qualification
Required
Strong legal research and writing skills
Some familiarity with LexisNexis system
Authorization to work in the United States per the Department of Homeland Security regulations
Possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey if necessary for the position
Residency in the State of New Jersey within one year of employment
Preferred
Academic courses in environmental, administrative, or civil rights law
Enrolled in a Juris Doctorate (JD) program at an accredited law school
